Apprenticeships
The Office of Apprenticeship, Information and Training (OAIT), part of the Department of Employment Services (DOES), provides oversight of the apprenticeship system in the District of Columbia. OAIT also safeguards the well-being of apprentices, ensures the quality of programs, provides integrated employment and training information to sponsors, employers and trainers.
Workforce on Wheels
The Workforce on Wheels (WOW) team is a cutting-edge mobile service operation developed by the District of Columbia Department of Employment Services (DOES) to address the needs of District's youth and residents in the communities where they live. Commissioned to serve constituents in underserved communities, the WOW team and mobile unit allows DOES to bring American Job Center (AJC) resources and services to neighborhoods where access is often limited.

In July, 2,105,513 people were counted as employed, up from June’s count of 2,098,121, and up from July 2017’s count of 2,077,406, representing a yearly increase of 28,107. “We continue to break employment records in Alabama,” said Washington. “Nearly 30,000 more people are working now than they were last year. The message is clear, Alabama: we have jobs!”
