Jobs of the Future
In August, Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry, Secretary Jerry Oleksiak, L&I Deputy Secretary for Workforce Development Eileen Cipriani and Department of Community and Economic Development Deputy Secretary Carol Kilko visited KCF Technologies in State College, highlighting Governor Tom Wolf’s PAsmart investments in apprenticeship programs and STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) education to help job seekers obtain good, middle-class jobs in 21st century careers.
Flood Assistance
To help workers and businesses impacted by the severe flooding that struck multiple townships in Susquehanna County, the Department of Labor & Industry (L&I) has activated its Rapid Response Services.
“Flooding and other natural disasters create hardships for businesses and uncertainty for employees during difficult times,” said L&I Secretary Jerry Oleksiak. “Labor & Industry stands ready to help mitigate the hardships and stress displaced workers and residents go through when dealing with an unanticipated loss of income like a natural disaster.”
